Today's word count: 957
No work and total solitude in the morning today, so I managed to raise the bar a little. I reworked the micro play in the afternoon, and fitted in some gardening. Oh, to be retired. Dream on.

weasel strikes again
Today's word count: 451
I had a great time talking to Year 5 kids today about the YOWs competition. I was given free reign by the teacher, and ended up brainstorming characters and plots. 25 young brains were buzzing in 29 different directions all at once. Sadly, when I handed out entry forms, the boys who had the most imaginative and exciting ideas declined. Tried to talk them into it, with no success. About 10 kids wanted to enter, and I'll drop off more forms to the teacher when I go in Friday....just in case.
The session set my brain buzzing too. I came home and did a rough plot for a new story. Might share it with the kids if I get it written before the holidays. Only one more day to work. Writing...here I come!
I go to great lengths for dinner. |

Weasel's words for the day

The Weasel Has Landed.
Welcome to The Weasel's Words.
Hi. I'm the Weasel, and I'm an expert at weaselling out of writing.
For a writer, it's the words that count, and this blog is all about word counts. I've set it up to shame myself into writing something every day. And every day, I plan to put my word count up on the blog. I won't be including the blog word count. The blog is a means to an end.....a 'the end' on the final page of a manuscript.
This is the blog of the weasel. This is me at 11.40 p.m. last night. Just look at those eyes. Alert, watchful..ah.. glazed. I'd sneaked out of bed to put my micro play on the page. The words...the words... they just wouldn't let me alone. Had to wait until the warm body beside me was snoring softly before I made my move. It took less than an hour (I said it was a micro play) before it was on the computer with notes for a second on the page below it. In the daylight hours I tidied it up a little and shot it off to Di Abolic before I could think about it. Now I'm just waiting to hear what she says.
